Owner & Instructor

Shelley Simmons has been practicing Baptiste Yoga since 2006. Shelley found this vigorous style of yoga increased her strength and physical wellness while at the same time grounding her emotionally through the practice of presence. In the thirteen years that she has practiced Baptiste Yoga, it has profoundly impacted her life.

“It did not take me long to realize that what happens on my yoga mat is a reflection of what happens in my life off my mat. A regular yoga practice has helped me learn patience, endurance and resilience. This is turn has made me a happier and more optimistic person in life—I know that I can handle what comes up in my day, in my relationships and in my community.”

Shelley is a Certified Baptiste Instructor and has logged 600 hours with the Baptiste Institute and Baptiste Foundation, learning from both Baron Baptiste and Paige Elenson, founder of Africa Yoga Project.  Over the course of her training, she had a growing desire to bring the first Baptiste Yoga studio to Fayetteville, in Northwest Arkansas. In the summer of 2019, she opened Baptiste Power Yoga Fayetteville in the studio space above her garage. Creating a studio in Fayetteville is not only about offering hot, challenging, and transformational yoga. Creating a tight knit community that supports and encourages one another is equally as important to Shelley.

“Yoga is not just a personal experience for me—it is most transformative when it happens in community.  I am inspired by those on their mats around me and can feel the support in the room as we breath together through a tough practice.”

As she looks to expand into a commercial space soon, she invites you to come see what Baptiste Yoga is all about!

Stacie Burley started Baptiste Yoga in 2010 and completed her first 200-hour teacher training in 2014.  She has taught for over 5 years and recently became a Baptiste certified instructor after attending the Baptiste Institute’s Level 1 training in Ojai, CA.  A former collegiate athlete and life-long runner, Stacie loves the physical challenge and balance that Baptiste Yoga offers.

“I like that yoga is a practice–it is something that you never master.  It continually offers you places to grow into and expand. If you allow it, yoga will change you.”

Through teaching, Stacie enjoys inspiring her students to discover this for themselves.

“I want students to discover their bodies and their own power—to realize they are capable of things they didn’t know they could do.”
